- It was just a massive crowd of screaming people. Some were falling over themselves. A poor chap in a wheelchair was just left, and everyone just rushed to the back of the building, and then people ran the other way and no one really seemed to know what was going on.

- Probably failing to plan for the day after what I think was the right thing to do in intervening in Libya.
- I decided to leave the army when my dead and injured comrades lay in our base, and nobody took them to hospital. My army training is very useful now, as I am training Taliban fighters with the same knowledge.
- We never could have believed that this nightmare would go on for so long, but I'm just overjoyed that it's about to be over.

- It is the legitimate right of a sovereign state and a fair action that nobody can criticize.
- Peace, prosperity, and democracy cannot endure if imposed from the outside. We should cease to make false distinctions between peacekeeping and prevention; they are in fact inextricably linked.
- But just as it is the responsibility of Muslims around the world to root out misguided ideas that lead to radicalization, it is the responsibility of all Americans -- of every faith -- to reject discrimination.
- This is an act of war. An act committed by a terrorist army, Daesh, against France, our values, who we are, a free country that speaks to the entire planet.

- But I think if we're ever going to really tackle the problems posed by Jihadi extreme terrorism, we need to understand it and realize that it has antecedents to what happened in Iraq, and we have to continue to be vigilant about it.
