I understand how big this is. It’s a big deal. No one has done this before. And it’s kind of a nervous process. But I know what I want to be … I want to be a football player in the NFL.

But I do want to make something clear because it’s important to me as a human. And that is you understand that it was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man. I don’t think there’s anything funny about it.

The greatest danger to our future is apathy.

I don’t want my son serving alongside troops who are out of shape, or in combat units with females who can’t meet the same combat arms physical standards as men.

As the Democratic Party, we have a lot of work to do to make up for our failures in the past. We got crushed in this last election.

Heroes always have their scars. Some you can see, some you read about later on.

The hour has come for a new generation to lead the Democratic Congress that I so deeply respect.

I actually hope that one day videos like this and the whole coming out process are just not necessary, but until then, I am going to do my best and do my part to cultivate a culture that is accepting, that is compassionate.
