- On this day long ago, a child was born who - by age 30 - would transform the world. Happy Birthday Isaac Newton - born Dec 25, 1642.
- We forget these are criminals they're out there apprehending. [Mayor] De Blasio's out there on the front lines defending these criminals. But the people who are defending his own family, he's not out here for. And I find it disgraceful…As the leader of this city, he needs to show a little more support for the cops. They're the ones that are dying for us. Simple.
- Anyone who's standing with us, we want you to not use Eric Garner's name for violence, because we are not about that. I'm standing here in sorrow about losing those two police officers.
- Stuart [Scott]'s flair and finesse brought flavor and coolness to ESPN, and he opened the door for many other minorities to follow in his footsteps. Stuart, my brother, you have left a positive, lasting impression on not only the sports world, but the entire world as a whole.
- Deeply saddened by the loss of Senator Edward Brooke. He was a true trailblazer; those of us who followed cannot thank him enough. Rest in peace.
- You know what, it really is time for a change. You deceived us when you went to Obama and Pelosi to get your votes for the CrOmnibus. You said you’d fight amnesty tooth and nail - you didn’t. You funded it! And then you took the only hostage that Obama would like for us to shoot. It was a terrible strategy, and it follows a number of years of broken promises. It’s time for a change.
- I think one of the most important things we did as a party this cycle is we didn’t nominate any cavemen. It’s very hard to climb out from under that…anytime somebody said something boneheaded on our side of the aisle, we’d pounce on that and say, ‘You don’t speak for Republicans; that’s not our position.’
- After Florida State, [we’re at] 90 school shootings since Sandy Hook. Newsflash to my colleagues – this isn’t normal. Do something.
- The decision…to announce the [Ferguson] decision at 8:30 p.m. CT was foolish and dangerous. Here's the thing about that time of night: it's dark. Anyone – anyone! - should have known the decision in the Brown case would have been controversial. A decision not to indict, which was always possible, even likely, would have been sure to attract protests, even violence. Crowd control is always more difficult in the dark.
- I’ve lived in Washington for nearly 50 years, so I have met all the presidents, many senators, many congress people, and many governors. And I always said the best politician - at the height of his political life - was Marion Barry.
- The Obama administration is now in the market for their fourth secretary of defense. When the president goes through three secretaries, he should ask, ‘Is it them, or is it me?’
- My favorite athlete ever is Magic Johnson. Magic Johnson's all about passing. It's all about, like, setting up players, setting up people. I like dishing out and watching somebody jam. Actually, I get great pleasure from that.
