“I believe feminism is grounded in supporting the choices of women even if we wouldn’t make certain choices for ourselves.”

I was quite overcome by the faces of those I saw in the crowd. There were people there that had helped raise me. There were so many who had believed in this when it was but an idea, and to celebrate their victory, our victory all together at once. It was a joy.

Maybe it won’t change the world, but it might change someone’s day.

In a democracy, that’s the only realistic path to Net Zero. Consent, not imposition. Honesty, not obfuscation. Pragmatism, not ideology.

In the past, human progress had to come at the cost of the environment. If we wanted energy, we had to burn wood or we had to burn fossil fuels. If we wanted to grow more food, we had to expand farmland, often at the cost of forests. But technology and innovation means we're very quickly decoupling these impacts, such that this conflict is no longer true.

And the truth is, what people think of me in light of this is far less important than what people think of women who continue to come forward to tell their stories. They deserve to be heard, and believed.

Silencing women silences justice.

Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with.

Women work harder. And women are more honest; they have less reasons to be corrupt.
