Bipartisanship & Compromise
- We need a revolution in how we think — one that addresses and neutralizes the instinct to be judgmental and dismissive in the first place. And that must come from within.
- Instead of listening to the siren song of false prophets, we must relearn to work together with respect for opposing points of views in a search for the common ground and a recommitment to shared values that will help us together reaffirm our common humanity.
- Oftentimes when we think we're engaged in reasoned policy discussion we're actually engaged in complex efforts to rationalize the direction in which our tribal affiliations are pushing us.
- We will have disagreements, but we will disagree as friends and never stop working together toward victory.
- Article II Section 2 of the Constitution says the President of the United States nominates justices to the Supreme Court, with the advice and consent of the Senate. I can't find a clause that says '... except when there's a year left in the term of a Democratic president.
- Get a backbone—do your job.

- Our founders didn’t want some parliamentary system where if you won the majority you got to do whatever you wanted. They wanted this long, slow process. And so change comes slowly. And obviously too slowly for some.
