War & Peace
- It’s the worst humanitarian and human rights crisis in a decade, when both sides have committed serious crimes.
- We could become a failed state.
- We must actively look for measures to secure our military’s own forces to deter and effectively deal with North Korea’s nuclear threats.
- We’re here to defend Venezuela; that’s what we were elected to do. Even if it costs us our lives.
- Hatred can rot a person’s wisdom and conscience. An enemy mentality will poison the spirit of a nation and inflame brutal life and death struggles, destroy a society’s tolerance and humanity, and hinder a country’s advance toward freedom and democracy.
- Each American generation passes the torch of truth, liberty and justice – in an unbroken chain all the way down to the present. That torch is now in our hands. And we will use it to light up the world.
- This was a mission that was started before I got here. This was something that was, you know, just they wanted to do. They came to see me. - The naivety is to believe that the much-needed reconciliation between Israel and its neighbours can go forward without peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.
- They fail to recognize that this friend, the United States of America, that has done more to support Israel than any other country cannot be true to our own values if we allow a viable two-state solution to be destroyed before our own eyes.
- We must never repeat the horrors of war again.
- The fundamental strategic question is: What will we not permit, no matter how it happens, no matter how legitimate it looks?
- Your barrel bombs and mortars and air strikes have allowed the militia in Aleppo to encircle tens of thousands of civilians in your ever-tightening noose. It is your noose. Three member states of the U.N. contributing to a noose around civilians. It should shame you. Instead, by all appearances, it is emboldening you. You are plotting your next assault. Are you truly incapable of shame? Is there literally nothing that can shame you? Is there no act of barbarism against civilians, no execution of a child that gets under your skin, that just creeps you out a little bit? Is there nothing you will not lie about or justify?
